Cody McCormick win by TKO Fun
5
Cody McCormick takes a check from Greg Campbell behind the Buffalo net as he passes the puck. That leads to a fight between the two. They squareoff in the corner and come together. McCormick connects with a right to the back of the head. He misses with his next two punches, but gets three more right hands in. McCormick lands a right to the side of Campbell's head as they spin around. Campbell tries to respond and he throws a right. However he takes a left from McCormick at the same time as the Buffalo tough guy switches hands. The punch sends Campbell down to the ice and McCormick misses with one more left on the way down.

TKO win for McCormick as he dropped Campbell with a left hand that sent him to the ice. Easy win for McCormick as Campbell just held on and only threw one punch in the fight.

McCormick handled Campbell with ease. Cody got a good grip over Greg's right shoulder. McCormick landed an average blow and missed two punches. He landed a partial connect and missed a punch. He landed a solid right and missed a blow. Campbell missed a right. Cody had been going with right hands, but he switched to the left. He landed a good one and dropped Greg to the ice. He missed a follow up blow and the refs stopped the contest.

I rate this as a TKO for McCormick. His blows were powerful and he dropped Campbell with a punch to end the contest.

Just under three minutes in Gregory Campbell and Cody McCormick drop the gloves and squareoff for a little. When they grab on McCormick throws rights immediately, Campbell keeps his head low, and they spin around. McCormick lands four of seven, pauses, then misses a right. Then McCormick switches hands and lands a left as Campbell gets his head up and misses a right. Campbell's knocked off balance by McCormick's left and then falls back to the ice while McCormick misses a left. TKO win McCormick. Okay fight.

Cody McCormick win by TKO Fun

Early in the game, Gregory Campbell tries to spark the Bruins team and the fans by dropping them with Cody McCormick. There's tension in the air regarding the Chara hit, and the Bruins want to get the fans involved early.

The 2 men lock up, and McCormick has the size and reach advantage. He fires 7 rights that Campbell tries to duck away from, as they are twirling around. McCormick catches mostly helmet with the shots, but he is clearly too much for Campbell. As Cody misses a big right hand, he switches to the left and hits Campbell as Greg misses a right of his own. Campbell is off balance as the shot lands, and it drops him. It's a boarderline TKO, even though it wasn't a big punch.

Campbell and McCormick square off early in the game. McCormick is the only one throwing, some missing, a couple landing, and he gets an easy win over the mismatched Campbell in a short fight.

Early in the game McCormick and Campbell decide to get the ball rolling. The two drop the gloves and square off in the corner. After a short square off, McCormick quickly moves in and gets a good grasp on Campbell. McCormick is able to quickly get Campbell on the defensive and begins to throw fast, but powerful right hands, many of which appear to land. Campbell takes about 4 solid rights from McCormick before he is able to answer with a right of his own. Although Campbell finally lands a punch, it would be his last one as he is greeted with another few right hands from McCormick. It is a clear win for McCormick as Campbell is not left defenceless nor is he taken down by a McCormick punch. Campbell simply decideds he has had enough, loses his balance after being somewhat rag dolled by McCormick, and goes down. Clear win McCormick.

Adam McQuaid clear win Fun

Close to centre ice, late in the second period, Adam McQuaid and Paul Gaustad drop the gloves and square each other up. Gaustad moves in and they get a grip on each other's jerseys. Gaustad gets McQuaid's head down and throws five small rights, landing on three of them before McQuaid's able to raise his head. McQuaid loses his helmet doing so and then has a right ducked by Gaustad as he misses a right. Gaustad leans away after but McQuaid lands three of four rights which get Gaustad to move in closer. There's a pause and McQuaid throws two rights, landing one before Gaustad ducks under McQuaid's arm, getting outside. Gaustad then misses two rights, turns his head away, and moves in close on McQuaid who throws a flurry of nine rights. McQuaid lands seven and knocks Gaustad's helmet off after he gets in close. Gaustad misses a right as McQuaid stands back a bit and shakes his elbow pad off. They spin and McQuaid misses three rights, his last one being blocked by Gaustad. Gaustad misses a right and then tries to duck a McQuaid right but it lands regardless. McQuaid then lands a right after a pause and it gets Gaustad struggling to keep his footing. McQuaid follows with two rights that miss and put him off balance and as they go down to the ice, the linesmen jump in. Pretty spirited tilt between these two tough guys. Win to McQuaid. He was more active and landed more and better punches than Gaustad.

McQuaid controlled this fight from start to finish. Gaustad landed a partial connect and missed several punches. Adam landed a partial connect and an average punch. He missed a blow and landed a solid right. He missed a punch, landed an average blow, and missed a shot. Paul missed a punch. He wasn't nearly as active in terms of punches thrown.

McQuaid missed a blow and landed an average shot. He missed a shot, landed two decent blows, and missed a punch. He missed a few shots and landed a partial connect. Gaustad missed a couple of shots. Adam landed a partial connect and a soft blow to the shoulder. He missed a punch and the officials stopped the contest.

I rate this as a clear win for McQuaid. He landed many more punches and with better impact. He won in comfortable fashion.

Buffalo has just tied the game at 2 and has taken over the momentum of the game, so Boston tries to get the crowd back in it. McQuaid challenges Gaustad and they square off in the middle of the rink. They grab on and start firing away. Gaustad lands a couple of short rights as McQuaid appears to be measuring Paul just waiting for an opening. McQuaid then let's loose and fires a bunch on overhand looping rights, and lands about 4 to the side of Paul's head. They adjust their grips and McQuaid fires off a couple of more, landing another good shot. Gaustad then fires a couple of his own, but they miss their mark. McQuaid fires off a series of rights that are hitting the mark, and Gaustad's helmet goes flying. Gaustad then misses a right, and McQuaid fires back 3 of his own that all miss. Gaustad then misses a right and after they adjust for a moment, McQuaid lands one that Paul can't block. Gaustad appears to be losing his balance, and McQuaid fires off a couple that miss, and both men fall to the ice, with McQuaid pulling Gaustad on top of himself. Clear win for McQuaid as the fans come alive.

Not a good matchup even though both guys compare in size-dimensions. Mcquaid's job is to fight & bounce people around while gaustad is a solid hockey player that doesn't go looking for a fight. I guess the sabres are just another team who lacks a policeman .... so they might as well brace themselves when they receive further beatings in the future.

This big hit by McCormick on Horton eventually leads to a scrum behind the Sabres net. When Gerbe knocks Horton on his ass with a shove, it gets things heated, which then leads to the Lucic-McCormick fight.Reply

Milan Lucic narrow win Fun

Shortly after the Adam McQuaid and Paul Gaustad fight, a small scrum begins around the Buffalo Sabres' net. Boston Bruins' power forwards, Nathan Horton and Milan Lucic gather around Chris Butler who's paired off with Horton but they have a linesman between them. Horton and Lucic jaw at Butler so Cody McCormick moves in and pulls Lucic away. They drift to the corner and McCormick drops the gloves first so Lucic drops his too. They get their hold on each other and McCormick misses a left as Lucic lands a right to the back of the head. McCormick quickly follow with another left that misses and then Lucic just lands a right that gets McCormick's helmet off. McCormick then changes hands and misses a right before they grapple. Lucic is pushed into the boards but he gets McCormick down after. Lucic pulls McCormick back up and they wait a little bit. Lucic misses a right and McCormick misses two rights before losing his balance. Lucic lands a right then and McCormick's jersey ends up over his head. The jersey comes down soon and McCormick gets up slowly as Lucic just holds back on throwing more. Once McCormick is up though, the linesmen step in and stop the fight. Win Lucic as he landed the only punches and had control of the fight. Not a really good tilt though.

Milan Lucic narrow win Fun

There was a heated scrum after the whistle. Horton grabbed Butler's helmet and ripped it off. Lucic and McCormick decided it was time to go. Cody missed a couple of rights. Milan landed an average blow and a partial connect. He missed a punch and pulled McCormick to the ice. Cody got up and resumed fighting. McCormick missed a couple of blows. Looch missed a blow and landed an average punch. The jersey came up over Cody's head. Lucic held up and let the refs stepped in.

This could either be a narrow win or a decisive win for Lucic. I will call it a narrow win as Lucic didn't do all that much damage with his punches. It could be argued that Milan had McCormick in trouble at the end, but he showed no inclination to continue punching in this instance.

During a scrum in the Buffalo zone, Lucic and Horton are having words for Butler, who had crosschecked Horton. McCormick comes over, gets Lucic's attention and Lucic drops the gloves. McCormick drops his a few seconds later. Lucic throws a couple and McCormick goes down for a couple seconds. Lucic lets him get up and lands another right. McCormick does down to a knee and looks either gassed or just gives up. Win Lucic.

I don't understand a star review for a narrow win when McCormick doesn't land a single punch in this fight, is dropped to his knees, pulled back to his feet, wrestled down again, and ends up helpless on his knees, jerseyed. This is decisive win hands down. Anyone who calls this a narrow win is an obvious hater. Cody's mom would have thrown in the towel in this one. McCormick bit off way more than he could chew here.

I think in dyg rules this would decisive win for Lucic, since McCormick kinda turtled and asked refs to come in? But using common sense this is narrow win, not even clear.Reply

Don't you agree that when someone gives up, it's a common sense to call it a decisive win for his opponent?

I understand that Lucic is a very polarizing player, but how can people who call this a narrow win get a star for their reviews? McCormick never landed a punch, got dropped and pulled back up to his skates, was wrestled down again, and was left on his knees- sweatered with Lucic standing over him with his fist cocked. If someone called it a clear win, then I could at least say they were in the ballpark. But a narrow win? That's just embarrassing that a review like that would get a star rating.Reply

I think the first punch, and the second grazer really stunned McCormick. He seemed to not really want any part of it after that, he usually doesn't grab on that tightly in fights. This was clearly a decisive win for Lucic......Reply

I didn't see Cody McCormick in a hopeless situation, therefore, no decisive win. Yes he went down but he eventually did get up on his own accord and Milan Lucic never took advantage of McCormick's bad situation.

So without that, it's just Lucic landing three punches by my count of which none were anything special compared to nothing landed by McCormick. That to me equates to a narrow win and it appears that mullet agrees with me.
