Connolly checked Gudbranson from behind into the boards. Boyes immediately stepped in and started to push and shove with Connolly. These two wrestled a bit and Connolly dropped one glove. Then linesman came in and separated them. Fun

Adam McQuaid clear win Fun
7
The Boston Bruins are a really softer team this year. Adam McQuaid is one of the few original big bad Bruins still with them this year (with Milan Lucic but that's pretty much it). As the Bruins are on the edge of not making the playoffs, they will be out of the playoffs if they lose tonight. It was a 0-0 score, but the game was going nowhere. McQuaid was definitely trying to spark his team up here. Note: they still lost the game 4-2 and they were out of the playoffs. They have one game left to play, and it's against a really good team in the Tampa Bay Lightning playing in Tampa Bay.

As the Panthers control the puck in the Bruins' zone, McQuaid and Huberdeau have a pretty good rough in front of Tuuka Rask. McQuaid is abusing Huberdeau, who pays the price for being in front of the net when McQuaid is there. Petrovic fired a puck at Rask right before this. Maybe feeling bad for it, he skates all the way to McQuaid handing Huberdeau's ass to him. He roughs him up, and McQuaid drops his gloves, but Petrovic only wants to wrestle. He finally obliges after a while. Petrovic has nice size and proved before that he could fight (ex: nice draw against Tinordi), and we all know McQuaid, he's a very decent light-heavyweight who fought a little less this year than normally, but he stays decent. On paper, he's way better than Petrovic. McQuaid is definitely the aggressor here as he was clearly searching for a dance partner by roughing every one up. Nice on Petrovic for showing up and squaring off.

After wrestling for a while because they were too tied up, McQuaid misses a right cross and lands a right. He then misses a right, comes short with another right, lands one on the back on Petrovic's helmet and lands a real nice uppercut. He then misses a right and an uppercut. Petrovic answers with a right that comes up short. McQuaid misses with a wild uppercut, and then misses with a wild swing. They both miss a right. Petrovic comes up short with a right, and another. They are in recuperating mode now, and have been for 5 seconds already. They wrestle and both miss with jersey jabs. Petrovic then throws 7 jersey jabs, landing 2 of them. Momentum is switching, so McQuaid answers with 2 misses and Petrovic lands another jersey jab. McQuaid misses a right and lands one. He misses an uppercut and lands a right. McQuaid then lands a right and as they are dead tired, the linesmen separate the fight.

Review: this was a really good scrap. A lot of wild swings, a lot connecting too. Also, there was a lot of emotion and it was kind of a long war. The crowd was also quite into it, and there were ups and downs and everything. So I give it a 7 fun rating, as it was a really good old-school scrap like we don't see it often. Also, the clear win goes to McQuaid. He was way more active, landed better, landed more punches, and controlled the fight. The punch count is clearly on his favor. Petrovic only did some damage with his jersey jabs which were really not enough to make up for his overall pounding, although his jersey jabs that landed were actually really decent.

Punch count (really calculated punch-by-punch with a slo-mo help):
Alex Petrovic: 13-3-0
Adam McQuaid: 16-5-1

Adam McQuaid clear win Fun

Jonathan Huberdeau goes to the net and is knocked down by Adam McQuaid. McQuaid continues to get rough with Huberdeau who gets up and shoves McQuiad back but Alex Petrovic takes notice and makes his way to McQuiad, hauling him away from Huberdeau. McQuaid wants to go and drops the gloves before Petrovic drops the gloves. They get set and McQuaid manages to work his right arm out of his jersey. McQuaid throws ten straight rights and lands six, one catching Petrovic cleanly as he stays in close and then misses a right while standing back. Petrovic tries to get back in close as McQuaid throws four rights and lands two and keeps some distance between them. They pause and Petrovic misses a right before McQuaid misses a right. Petrovic misses two rights and then starts spinning around with McQuaid. They prod each other a little as Petrovic lands a right and then jersey jabs McQuaid a bit. McQuaid then throws seven rights and lands three as Petrovic keeps jersey jabbing and then gets in close. The linesmen step in though and end the fight before anymore can happen. Entertaining scrap from two tough defensemen. Petrovic was much more conservative and not nearly as active as McQuaid. McQuaid controlled the fight and obviously landed more and better punches.

Very nice fight here between these two. This started off as a wrestling match up against the boards behind the net. Once they got free. they both started throwing punches, with McQuaid getting the better of the exchange despite some decent jersey jabs by Petrovic. Give McQuaid the edge in this one, as he did land better quality shots.

Great fight, credit to both guys here. McQuaid landed an awesome uppercut at the early stage of the fight. I also give him the narrow win as he got the better punches in. Still, excellent showing from them both

McQuaid crosschecks Huberdeau into the ice and then after a couple of shoves Huberdeau gets up as Petrovic comes in and hits McQuaid into the boards. They wrestle for a while then drop the gloves behind the net. McQuaid lands about 5 shots early are they go in front of the net. That is when Petrovic exchanges some Jersey jabs as McQuaid lands an uppercut. The fight ends as McQuaid gets one more jab in before they are exhausted. Clear win McQuaid in an exciting fight.

McQuaid and Huberdeau were caught up behind the net as McQuaid starts to crosscheck Huberdeau pretty aggressively into the ice, wanting a fight. The whistle is blown as Petrovic skates over and wants to go with McQuaid. They tangle up and drop the gloves. McQuaid lands a couple of rights as his jersey starts to come undone. After a few more seconds of this Petrovic starts to throw some rights at McQuid in what was his only landed punches in the entire fight. McQuaid then starts throwing more body shots at Petrovic before they are dead tired and the linesman come in and break it up. Clear win McQuaid as he landed more and better punches. Good fight and it was long too which made it more exciting.

All year if 2 or especially 3 officials were near a scrum like this, they jumped in before the fight broke out. Now, at the end of the year they suddenly all stand there and watch? My bet is Buttfuckman told the zebras to do this in an attempt to fool us all into thinking maybe he isn't trying to pussify the league after all.Reply
