Tyler Randell is really trying to leave an impression for the Bruins' roster this year. He got in his fourth pre-season scrap and showed plenty of toughness and willingness, as well as some hockey ability. The 24-year-old is starting his fifth professional season and has only showed improvement since his beginning. He also has a pretty good and complete fight card. He goes at it here with Liam O'Brien, another guy with a great fighting resume, who managed to start the season with the caps last year by showing his fighting willingness and toughness but got sent down after only a few games in the show. He continued fighting in the AHL but he's trying to stay with the caps this year. He's a very less talented fighter than Randell, though. They are lined up at a face-off so a fight between them is pretty obvious, since they are two extremely willing fighters.

They both drop their gloves and O'Brien charges Randell. He misses with 3 rights and an uppercut and Randell answers with two rights; one missing and one more or less connecting with the chest of O'Brien. Randell then falls over O'Brien who was falling back and Randell gets the takedown.

Review:
-No punch landed significantly enough to give the edge to either of them. They both overall almost threw and landed equally.
-It's not a TKO because the small punch of Randell at the end just pushed O'Brien who fell back a bit but was then slammed by Randell. The not "TKO" punch in only a small shove/punch that isn't a TKO punch.
-It was a quick and boring fight with nothing landing so I give it a 3. Very disappointing for a nice match-up like that.

Tyler Randell win by TKO Fun

Liam O'Brien and Tyler Randell line up for a faceoff, do some talking, and then drop the gloves when play starts. O'Brien moves right in and grabs on with Randell in close. O'Brien throws four rights but only lands one while Randell turns his head away. Randell lands a good right though that knocks O'Brien backward and down to the ice. Randell falls down after O'Brien, missing a right on the way. A short, quick, fight with Randell getting the TKO win.

Tom Wilson clear win Fun
4
Tom Wilson and Kevan Miller get tangled up behind the play and drop the gloves. They grab on and get in close where Miller just hangs on. Miller stays idle while Wilson throws seven rights in a row, landing six, half to the body and half to the helmet and visor of Miller. Miller comes back with a missing right and ducks his head afterwards. Wilson connects with two rights, one sending the helmet flying off Miller's head and getting Miller to raise his head. Wilson misses a follow up right and ducks his head. They stay in close and the linesmen choose to intercede there. Miller skated off with a cut beside his left eye while Wilson's knuckles where bleeding as well. Clear win for Wilson in a fairly bad fight.

Tom Wilson narrow win Fun

Tom Wilson and Kevan Miller drop their gloves for the first time of the game. The fight was really in close; they were hugging each other hard, making it impossible for them to throw wild swings or landing anything. Wilson misses a right, and goes to the body. He goes again to the body then to face. He misses with the face and lands 3 body blows and misses a good right. Miller then answers with a right as Wilson misses 2 rights and lands an uppercut right on Miller's visor, making his helmet fly in the air. He then misses another right. They then hug again and the linesmen come in to break them up.

Review: Narrow win for Wilson, he landed and threw more but not significantly enough for it to be a clear win (there is no clear winner in those types of fights because nothing landed well enough). Also it was a boring 3 because it was too quick and only a few punches were thrown.

After delivering a massive hit against Lubomir Visnovsky in the playoffs last year, the New York Islanders wasted little time in trying to get revenge on Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson this preseason.

Islanders enforcer Eric Boulton chased Wilson around during the Captials 3-1 victory, hoping he would drop the gloves - to which Wilson refused.

Wilson admitted to the Washington Post he's got a lot of respect for Boulton, but made it no secret there's no reason he should be fighting the 39-year-old.

I just don't think there's any point in me fighting those guys, Wilson said. He didn't play at all last year. He's probably not going to play at all this year. I'm trying to use these preseason games to get ready for the year. I know there's always going to be that physical part of my game. But there's just no need for me to take that guy. Unless he's running around taking advantage of our guys, there's just no reason for me to pay any attention to a guy like that.

Wilson's 100% right with his comments. He's not going to fight Boulton just for the sake of fighting - especially when there's nothing to be gained from doing so. The 21-year-old would prove nothing by doing that. Like Wilson bluntly mentioned, Boulton probably isn't going to make the Islanders, and if he does it's just as an enforcer, so why waste his time with him? If Wilson wanted to stir the pot by fighting, he would try to tilt with one of the Islanders better players to get under the team's skin, something fighting with Boulton wouldn't accomplish.

Tom Wilson's arrogance above about not fighting Boulton

Adam McQuaid clear win Fun
6
T.J. Oshie sends Adam McQuaid sprawling into the boards with a heavy hit behind the net and McQuaid gets up mad and wanting a piece of Oshie. Torey Krug also grabs Oshie and wrestles with him, knocking Oshie's helmet and visor off. McQuaid's still angry with Oshie though so McQuaid drops the gloves pulls Oshie away. McQuaid gets set and lands a right and the linesmen wade in by the fight, trying to get in. Oshie misses a right and McQuaid lands a right before Oshie misses a right. McQuaid lands a right and Oshie prods back before McQuaid connects on a right. Oshie lands a right as McQuaid stands back and then lands two rights as Oshie prods again. Oshie then lands a right and McQuaid misses a right as the linesmen wade in trying to break it up again. Oshie lands a right that knocks off McQuaid's helmet and McQuaid lands a right. Oshie misses a right and gets turned around and then bent over while McQuaid throws two rights and lands one. Oshie goes down and the linesmen finally get in to break it up. Oshie stood in there well against a far bigger and far more experienced opponent in McQuaid. McQuaid landed more and better punches to get the clear win.

Adam McQuaid clear win Fun

T.J. Oshie delivers a punishing hit on tough defenseman Adam McQuaid on the fore-check. As he's skating back up the ice after his hit, Torey Krug gets in his way and they start roughing. Seeing that, Adam McQuaid comes to see Oshie. Oshie is tough alright but really is more of a skilled forward than a fighter and Adam McQuaid is definitely a way tougher and better fighter. He's also 6 inches taller and about 10 inches heavier, and has a lot more experience than Oshie, but Oshie is willing and drops one glove and they fight. Oshie still has his left glove on but he's throwing.

As soon as the fight starts, Adam McQuaid scores with a straight right. Oshie then comes up short with a right and Adam McQuaid lands another straight right. Oshie goes to the body, and Adam McQuaid lands another good right. Oshie throws a soft jersey jab with his glove still on that misses and a soft right that comes up short. Adam McQuaid answers with a solid right partially connecting. Oshie misses with a right and Adam McQuaid misses over-the-top and misses another one as Oshie connects really well. Oshie then connects again really well and Adam McQuaid is pissed off. He misses with a right, then Oshie lands one just higher than McQuaid's forehead connecting with his helmet and making it fly, then McQuaid lands an OK right and Oshie misses with a right and opens himself up. McQuaid then lands a good right and Oshie bails. They both fall and fight is over.

Review:
-As much as Oshie landed 2 really nice rights, Adam McQuaid still gets the clear win because he landed too many bombs and was in control all along.
- Bombs landed and the unlikely scrapper factor brings this fight to a 6 fun factor.

Oshie tried to compete, but he was in over his head. Adam missed a punch and landed an average blow. He landed a solid right. T.J. missed a blow and landed a body shot. He missed two punches and landed a decent blow. McQuaid missed a shot and landed a solid punch. He missed a blow and landed a pretty good shot. He missed a blow and landed a solid connect. He missed a punch and landed a partial connect. Oshie landed an average blow and a partial connect. He missed a shot. The refs stopped the contest.

I rate this as a clear win for McQuaid. He controlled the fight and won by a comfortable margin.

Tom Wilson hits Matt Irwin hard on the forecheck. The ref sees it as a charge which may be the right call, and lifts his hand up while Irwin is stumbling to skate. Kevan Miller then comes over and shoulders Tom Wilson, and, as they already did earlier in the game, they drop their gloves. Miller is defending Irwin here and Wilson didn't hesitate to drop the mitts, and Miller did the same after a certain amount of time.

Wilson misses a right and lands a soft body blow. He then lands 2 body shots and connects with a right on Miller's helmet. He then lands a good right under Miller's visor and another one on Miller's helmet. He then lands an uppercut and lands a powerful right on Miller's helmet. Miller then tries to throw rights but his arm is too tangled up. They wrestle and Miller comes up way too short with two rights and Wilson misses right. Wilson is spun around and Miller misses the back of his head. He then throws six straight rights and lands 4 of them really nicely. Wilson loses his balance and the fight is over.

Review:
It was Wilson early, Miller late. I call it a draw because they landed pretty much the same amount of shots. Also, it was a good scrap but not enough to give it more than a 5.

Tom Wilson bodies Matt Irwin in the corner, leaving Irwin shaken up. Kevan Miller goes after Wilson and bumps with him, then Miller crosschecks Wilson when he drops the gloves. Wilson gets in close as Miller drops a glove and grabs Wilson. Wilson throws a series of nine rights in a row, landing five. Miller ducks his head and drops his other glove, missing two rights as Wilson's helmet and visor falls off. Wilson leans away but then lands a right as Miller directs Wilson against the bench boards. Wilson braces himself against the boards as Miller stands back and misses three rights. Wilson lands a right but gets entirely turned around afterwards. Miller takes advantage, throwing six rights and landing two while Wilson gets off the boards but can't reset and falls down. Not a bad fight at all and I give the edge to Wilson. He got the jump on Miller at the outset as Miller was hesitant to go. Miller just hung on with one glove still on as Wilson got decent flurry of rights in. Then Miller got the other glove off and launched a comeback. Miller took control of the fight and Wilson became less active. However Miller didn't land many punches and his late flurry wasn't as good as Wilson's. Overall I think Wilson landed slightly more and better punches than Miller.

Solid draw, both players throwing some big punches you could argue a narrow win miller but a draw would be a fiat result

Round 2

You can see that Wilson was talking to Miller after the fight and Oshie and Mcquaid was in the mix was well as a near brawl was about to break out before the linesman came in the bruins penalty box to calm them down.

Are these reviews serious? Was there not video up yet or something? How can anybody watch that replay and even try to say that Miller won this fight?Reply

I can't understand the win for Miller calls. They make absolutely no sense.Reply
