Adam McQuaid clear win Fun
6
Micheal Haley is looking to spark his team and finds Adam McQuaid. Haley offers to go and McQuaid decides to take the fight. They drop the gloves and square up, then Haley grabs on first and misses a right as McQuaid grabs on. Haley then switches hands and then lands a left while McQuaid misses a right. McQuaid turns away as Haley misses two follow up lefts but then McQuaid resets and lands a right as Haley connects on a left. Haley throws three more lefts and lands one but ducks his head as McQuaid lands four rights in a row. Haley then tries to get in close on McQuaid but he lands four more rights, keeping Haley outside. Haley switches hands and then gets set, landing a right as McQuaid connects on a right. McQuaid misses a right while Haley misses a right, then McQuaid lifts the jersey over Haley's face and misses a right before missing a right as Haley misses a right. McQuaid misses a right and then backs off while Haley loses his helmet and then misses a right that sends them both to the ice. Pretty good fight here and an obvious win for McQuaid. He had his right going and caught Haley a number of times. Haley stood in there but he couldn't mount much of an offense at any point in the fight.

McQuaid was throwing with intent. Haley got a few in, but not enough to counter McQuaid.

Since when did McQuaid start fighting with a visor? He never used to wear one before. It's rather cowardly to wear a visor when fighting a guy that doesn't have one. McQuaid already has a considerable advantage in size. He didn't need to give himself a further advantage.Reply

Haley went looking for the fight in order to spark his team. If he doesn't care about his opponent wearing a visor, neither should you.Reply

yeah it is kinda strange in the last few years he put on a visor and fights much less and does not usually fight legit fighters most of the time. Still one of the toughest in the current NHL but at least lose the visor or ditch the helmet if you square off.Reply

I do care because it's dishonorable. Considering McQuaid has a distinct size advantage over Haley, it seems rather unfair for him to shield half his face when Haley doesn't have a visor. Not to mention how he spent the first six or seven years not wearing one, only for him to don one now. It's bad enough that McQuaid has been less active in recent years and fighting weaker competition, but the visor just makes it worse.

He's had numerous injuries, including one to his eye. Again, Haley probably doesn't care what's fair, he only cares that he has an NHL job for the time being. He's thankful that players like McQuaid are still in the league.Reply

From 2010 until the 2015-2016 season, McQuaid didn't wear a visor. It's not like he is one of these new players in the league who are forced into wearing one. Other tough guys who have been around as long as him like McLeod, Haley, and Martin still don't wear one.

Mar 31 16:32 ET
I understand he had an eye injury but that excuse really doesn't hold up. If he is wearing a visor to protect his eye, why is he fighting at all then? Wouldn't he risk injuring it all over again? If McQuaid is going to be fighting, he shouldn't be wearing a visor which shields half his face. At the very least, he should take it off when fighting someone like Haley who doesn't wear a visor. Otherwise, it's dishonorable for a supposed tough guy to wear a visor yet fight a fellow scrapper who doesn't have one.Reply

Mar 31 16:43 ET
Ok I guess Adam McQuaid shouldn't fight then. Congratulations, one less guy to fight in a league that already has almost no fighting. I'm just glad I got to see a game with 2 fights in it because 2 or 3 years from now that might happen once a year. I really couldn't give a shit less who wears a visor and who doesn'tReply

He's been pretty banged up the last couple of years, so his GP total is down too. I think the visor was 16-17 early on? However, if you look at his fight card this year, it's almost all fighters. Of course, 50% of that fight card is made up of Cody McCleod lol. Also, I hate to say this, but how many "legit" fighters can we identify these days? Even 2012-13 looks like the Wild West compared to now.Reply

Brad Marchand narrow win
Fight called Unfair by SarcasticPillow on Mar 31, 2018
Reason: Too much interference by other players

Vincent Trocheck goes after Brad Marchand when he gets mixed up with Jonathan Huberdeau and drops the gloves. A linesman rushes in to break it up but Trocheck grabs Marchand to pull him away, drawing Brandon Carlo in. Trocheck drops the gloves and engages Marchand, who wrestles them both to the ice. Marchand however gets up as Carlo grabs Trocheck and then throws two lefts, landing one as Carlo pulls Trocheck to the ice. A few more players pile in after that and the linesmen slowly break it all up. A clearly unfair fight as Trochek was being held by Carlo when Marchand decided to throw punches.

Carlo was in the corner with Barkov. He tried to go between Barkov and boards and had just one foot on the ice when he lost it, seemed badly twisted ankle.

Carlo was taken out on a strecher.

Noel Acciari narrow win Fun
6
Acciari finishes his check on a Panther and Weegar does not like it. They both exchange a couple of words and quickly drop their mitts. They come together right away and start trading lefts. They both land a decent left and Acciari then lands an average left as Weegar lands a jab. Weegar lands another jab as Acciari gets a short uppercut in. Acciari lands a partial blow and three average helmet shots before he misses another left. Weegar lands a jab and misses a left before Acciari lands a body shot and an average left. Acciari lands another mid-range left and Weegar misses a blow before Acciari lands a helmet shot and Weegar misses a left. Acciari lands another left as Weegar misses a left and Weegar connects on a left helmet shot before Acciari misses a left. Weegar lands a weak left and drags Acciari down to the ice. The linesmen intervene and properly break up the tilt.

I rate this fight as a narrow win for Acciari. He landed more punches, but he did not put a whole lot of hurt on Weegar. Weegar actually landed with better pop in my opinion but the gap in the punches landed is enough to give the narrow victory to Acciari.

Noel Acciari narrow win Fun

Noel Acciari hits Maxim Mamin and is challenged by Mack Weegar afterwards. Acciari accepts and the gloves come off as they're each reaching for each other to grab on with the right. Weegar throws three lefts and lands one as Acciari throws three lefts and lands two, one catching Weegar across the face. Weegar waits as Acciari throws five more lefts, landing three before missing a left. Acciari continues with the left hand, throwing three lefts more and landing two with Weegar then standing back, ducking his head, and missing a left as Acciari lands a left. Weegar lands a left as Acciari misses a left and then Weegar lands a left with Acciari missing a left afterwards. Acciari then falls over Weegar, pulling the jersey over his head and getting him bent over. Before Weegar can free himself, the linesmen get in and break it up. Another pretty good scrap in this game, this time between two non-fighters. Weegar hung in there but no doubt Acciari got in the better punches and considerably more too.

A very good fight, especially as neither of these is known for fights. Both threw punches without much protecting themselves. Acciari threw more of them and therefore its his win even with Weegar getting takedown.
